From Monday 10th February 2021 prescriptions will no longer be printed.
Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) enables GP practices to send prescriptions electronically to the patient’s nominated pharmacy.
Patients who have already set up a nominated pharmacy will collect their medications as usual from their nominated pharmacy.
Patients who have not set a nominated pharmacy or do not wish to do so will be issued with an EPS green prescription token from the surgery so that they may visit the pharmacy of their choice. Pharmacy teams will scan the bar code on the token to access the EPS prescription and issue medications.
Tokens can be taken to any pharmacy in England.
