Out of Hours and Emergencies

For health information and advice, or if you need medical help fast when we are closed, call NHS 111. NHS 111 is the number to call when you need medical help fast but it’s not a life threatening emergency.

Extended Access Appointments

We’re working together with our neighbouring practices to bring you more appointments when our surgery is closed.

From 1st August 2019, you will be able to see a doctor or nurse on weekdays after 6.30pm, and weekends at Liversedge Health Centre.

Appointments will be available:

  • Monday to Friday  6.30pm—9.00pm
  • Saturdays 9am—5pm

If you need an appointment at these times please tell our receptionist who will be able to book an appointment for you.

Other out of hours services available in North Kirklees

North Kirklees Walk-in Centre

You can see a nurse practitioner for treatment or diagnosis of minor injuries and illnesses. (No children under 2 years please) Monday to Friday 08:00 to 20:00 at the Walk-in-Centre, Dewsbury District Hospital, Halifax Road, or The Old Schoolhouse Surgery at Dewsbury Health Centre. You do not need an appointment.

Your Local Pharmacist

Your local pharmacist will be able to give you free health advice at any time and you don’t need an appointment. The pharmacy holds a healthy living clinic once a week (details available from the pharmacy).They also provides an order/collect/delivery service for repeat prescriptions. Many pharmacies operate extended hours on a rota basis, call NHS Direct for details.
